Dont miss them. When describing bamboo we use viscose of bamboo yarn in the knitting and weaving of our products.
It is a staple fibre like cotton and made from, well, Bamboo ! The inherent properties of viscose from Bamboo fabric allow the production of the same products as cotton, but its better than cotton.
Yes, our fabrics beat cotton on every count! the cotton blend is a very highly effective combination
It is more absorbent than cotton , absorbing over 400% of its own weight
From bedding to nappies viscose of Bamboo is more breathable, it’s more absorbent than cotton but it dries nearly as quickly, we have had all the fabrics used in the products tested twice by School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Central Lancashire . Viscose of Bamboo has another wonderful property, it’s softer to the touch yet it is as durable than cotton but for that extra wet strength we add cotton to the blend when the yarn is spun, but bamboo as a raw material is much more ecologically sustainable than cotton and of course nylon and polyester which are oil derived fibres as it grows without synthetic chemicals such as fertiliser and pesticides. Unlike cotton, growing bamboo needs no irrigation. the vast majority of cotton is also grown with the aid of chemical fertiliser and pesticides 20 % of all agricultural pesticides used annually are used in growing cotton.
It’s wonderful and we love it. We hope you do too!
