Final Conclusions

• The results from this study suggest that 70% bamboo combined with 30% cotton dyed and knitted pyjama fabric will prevent the growth of Streptococcus G.

• Candida albicans was relatively unaffected by any of the fabrics.

• E. coli shows a significant retardation of growth with the 70% bamboo combined with 30% cotton dyed and knitted pyjama fabric.

Recommendation

• Future work could establish the role of the dye used in the pyjama fabric in contributing to the antibacterial properties.
